Services for Veterans

Veterans from every era are often left with invisible wounds, including PTSD, depression, and anxiety. When mental health disorders result from experiences in or during military service, these Veterans are entitled to compensation through the Veterans Administration (VA). Unfortunately, this process is not always straightforward, and many Veterans must complete extra steps to support their applications for VA disability. This can include seeking documentation from civilian providers to bolster their claims.

Jerome Lassiter

Dr. Manning's grandfather

Dr. Manning has completed over 100 compensation and pension (C&P) evaluations with Veterans, through a former contract with LHI and a current contract with VES. Through this experience, she has mastered the art of completing effective Disability Benefit Questionnaires (DBQs) and nexus letters. Now, she is pleased to offer these services directly to Veterans as well. This is available for claims of PTSD, eating disorders, and other mental disorders. Dr. Manning provides these services for Veterans residing in the following locations: Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.

DBQs require extensive review of documentation you submit to us, as well as an interview, either in person in Grand Rapids, Michigan or via telehealth. Then, Dr. Manning will complete the DBQ and submit it directly to you.

Nexus letters require extensive review of records you submit to us, first to determine if available information supports a nexus letter. If your records do not support a medical opinion linking your military service to your mental health concerns, you will be charged for the time required to review your records but will not be charged for letter writing. Nexus letters may require an appointment to determine your current mental health diagnosis. If your records support your claim, Dr. Manning will write a detailed, specific letter for you, using the language required by the VA (“at least as likely as not” linking your military service to your mental health concerns). These letters are written on our business letterhead and signed by Dr. Manning. We will submit this letter directly to you.

Fees

$150 per hour for record review, form completion, and letter writing, up to $1500 per DBQ or nexus letter

Nonrefundable regardless of the outcome of your claim

$450 is due when you commit to working with Dr. Manning to complete a DBQ or nexus letter

The balance is due at the completion of the DBQ or nexus letter, before it is sent to you

Time Frame

Dr. Manning will complete your DBQ or nexus letter within one month of receiving the down payment ($450). This can often be completed more quickly if needed, so please let us know if you have more urgent needs.
